Free Entrance Days in 2012 for the USA National Parks

One of the United States greatest treasures is its national park system. One 17 different days this year over 100 of the most popular parks that normally charge a fee are free. See a list of participating parks.
- January 14-16 – Martin Luther King Jr. weekend
- April 21-29 – National Park Week
- June 9 – Get Outdoors Day
- September 29 – National Public Lands Day
- November 10-12 – Veterans Day weekend

It really is a great deal, especially for the ‘big’ parks, with admission fees of $20.

I took advantage of these days during 2011. It was a great excuse to get the family out and enjoy some of our nations treasures. The only disadvantage of going on these days is that everyone else is too and the parks tend to be very busy and overcrowded.
