Carlos gives us a guide to some of the obvious spots like the Alamo but also shares some of his favorite hole in the wall restaurants, a tip about the best time to come to San Antonio, and a great drive in the Texas countryside.
“I think people should come to San Antonio because it’s a very historic city. It’s important in American and more so Texan history. It has a great walkable downtown area and it is also home to several of texas’s most popular sites including the San Antonio River Walk, the Alamo, and San Antonio Missions National Historical Park. It’s also very rich in Hispanic, Mexican-American and Tex-Mex cultures.”

Surreal to think that such a major battle took place there, and now the entire area surrounding the Alamo is a bunch of malls, shops, and restaurants. The next time I use HereStay to organize a vacation to someplace historic, I’ll be sure to put the Alamo on my list of “want to visit”s. Thanks!
