Bike Trips – Episode 14

The Amateur Traveler talks about great places that you can tour with your bike including Nantucket and Yosemite Valley.

Nantucket is a ferry ride away from the mainland it seems like a completely different state. But in fact, Nantucket is close enough to Boston to be an easy weekend trip. Getting there is part of the fun with the ferry ride.

For a romantic outing on the island I would suggest renting a tandem bike with your sweetie. We rented two bikes and brought our kids. Nantucket has a great network of bike paths that you can take from the town of Nantucket out to the various beaches. Our kids were not big bike riders but the path to the Southern beach was an easy ride even for riders unfamiliar with tandem bikes.
