Wallstreet – Bryce National Park, Utah – Photo Friday
by Chris Christensen Add commentscategories: usa travel
What looks like a slot canyon here is really the Navajo trail in Bryce National Park which wanders through the hoodoos (or spires of rock) that are Bryce’s most striking feature. The bad news with hiking in Bryce is that the lodge and main visitor road is at the highest point in the park and you hike down from there into the hoodoos. Why is that bad news? Because the last park of your hike is uphill. You have to hike down a series of switchbacks on this trail to get down to this area called “Wallstreet”.

I love the light in this photo. We haven’t been to Bryce Canyon yet, but I look forward to seeing it some day!

Love canyon shots like this. I’ve taken so many, with varying degrees of success. It’s so difficult to get the light right. Well done.

We recently took our kids down the Navajo Trail and into Wall Street. It was amazing. The walk up is a pain but hey if two year olds can do it, almost anyone can right?

This looks other-worldly, I’m half expecting R2D2 or those little hooded guys to emerge from the cave. Even though my childhood summers were spent on random road trips at various national parks in the west, we never made it to Bryce. Looks like a wonderful place to visit, thanks for the post.
